Weekly Themes:
*Week 1 (June 1-5) Nature Week: The
children will learn about planting, the growing process, and
harvesting. An organic gardening expert will work side-by-side with the
children as we plant a garden for the school. *Week 2 (June 8-12) Animal Week: We
will spend the week learning about different animals and their homes. The
week will end with a special visit from
Exotic Animals expert.
Week 3 (June 15-19) Science Week: The students will work on a different Science project or science experiment every day.
Week 4 (June 22-26) Cooking Week: The
children will learn how to make a new meal each day from start to
finish: following a recipe, mixing, cutting, stirring, baking, and
presentation. We will end the week with a "restaurant-style" party for
the parents.
*Week 5 (June 29 - July 3) Music Week:
We will spend each day of the week learning different aspects of music:
rhythm, reading notes, singing, and playing instruments with the help of a music specialist. At the end of
the week, we will have a parade and a visit from a musician. *Week 6 (July 6-10) Dinosaur Week: We will learn about different types of dinosaurs by reading books and studying bones and dinosaur tracks. The week will end with a visit from the Texas Natural Science Center.
*Week 7 (July 13-17) Soccer Week: A
soccer coach will visit each day of the week to teach the children the
basic rules and techniques of soccer: dribbling, blocking, passing,
goalkeeping, etc.
*Week 8 (July 20-24) Puppet Week: Every
day this week will be spent working on a different puppet project. The
children will put on their own puppet show, and enjoy a visit from Mr.
Puppet. Week 9 (July 27-31) Math Week: We will learn new exciting ways to incorporate Math into our daily lives, using the Montessori math materials and Week 10 (August 3-7) Storytelling Week: We
will offer a variety of arts & crafts, science & cooking
projects based on entertaining themes coinciding with children's
literature books. The week will end with a visit from a storyteller. *Week 11 (August 10-14) Art Week: The children will participate in a different arts and crafts project each day of the week with the help of an art specialist. The children will work in groups and individually on painting, sculpture, papier-mache', drawing, etc.
Week 11 (August 17-21) Dance Week: The children will spend the week practicing their dance moves in preparation for our end-of the-summer presentation for parents.Week 12 (August 24-28) Acting Week: The children will work on their acting skills and add the finishing touches to their end-of-the-summer presentation for the parents. *Weeks with a visitor or special instructor (subject to change) Summer Camp Rates: Registration Fee: $100 per child (non-refundable) Pre-Primary (18 mos - 3 yrs) Full Day Options
